Every year two million children are taken to hospital from being involved in accidents on the road. On average one child in every class is killed or injured in a road accident by the time they are sixteen.
It is LV Streetwise’s aim to reduce the number of children killed and injured in preventable accidents on the road. Tonight fundraisers for LV Streetwise will be at Poole Quay taking part in an extraordinary, first- ever fire walk to raise money for this cause.
Diana Newbury, Fundraising Coordinator for LV Streetwise spoke on how the event went. She said: “It was great it was a really good night. Because Poole Tourism kindly agreed to let us do the event during their firework evening, we had additional people going along the Quay, and because it was firework evening, it was dark, the coals glowed, so actually it couldn’t have been better.”
LV Streetwise raised a lot of money from this event and hopefully they can continue to have more children going to their centre to promote road safety
