Bournemouth Shines Bright at Gardens of Light Festival
Michael Grubbs award winning light pods aim dazzle Bournemouth’s Lower Gardens.
Due to a fantastic successful opening of the event launched within the Bournemouth Christmas festival last year, Grub and his innovative team have decided to bring it back again.
The immerse light experiences are completed of 10 different beach hut looking light pods, which give all people of the community a chance to get involved in the fascinating encounters. They are free to enter and are open all day. The lighting installations were designed to entrance visitors of all ages.
Families from around Bournemouth have enjoyed the festivities as a mother of two children explained. “My children absolutely adored Santa’s grotto, they had so much fun. The lights look amazing; they should do this more often.”
Jessica Watson, 20, from Bournemouth has said “The gardens look so pretty at night, they really brighten up the dark winter nights. It is a perfect addition to the Christmas German market. The festival makes the town look more attractive and friendly.”
This year the event features an ice rink complete with a café bar, a grotto for Santa Claus, along with a giant lamp lava display created by Michael Grubb Studios.
The Gardens of Light will be open between 10am to 10pm from the 28th November 2014 until the 6th January 2015. During the events of 2013, they have gained two major awards including a Lighting Design award for best special event, and a Design Week award for Best Exhibition.
