Chris Simms has lived in Boscombe all her life and tells us about what she has done as an individual to help make Boscombe safe.
What was the saddest thing you saw when you were helping trying to stop the prostitution in Boscombe?
Chris Simms: The saddest thing I’ve seen pregnant women and young girls as young as 16 and 17 under the influence of drugs selling themselves.
What did you do to help solve this issue?
Chris Simms: Every night I would call the police and report everything I saw
How many prostitutes were there a night?
Chris Simms: There were about 50 every single night and now there is none!
Wow that is amazing How did you manage to get rid of the problem all together?
Chris Simms: Well the police have done an outstanding job! They were really helpful and worked with me actively to help get rid of this problem once and for all.
Have you noticed a change in the area since you solved the issue?
People used to be scared to walk through the church, now its lovely. It just goes to show that if the community stick together and work with the police as opposed to against them then we can create really good results!
