In honour of Krishna Malla’s new piece ‘The Green Man’, here are some more photos of recent public art in the Bournemouth area:
1. DWP Mural
The most recent edition of public art in Bournemouth can be found on the wall of the DWP Housing Partnership HQ on St Clements Road, Boscombe. It took artists Jake Kellythorn and Maskart a week to complete and was revealed on the 3rd Decemeber 2014.
2. Vision of Boscombe
This colourful mural was designed by students of Harewood College and Avonbourne College in 2012 and brought to life by artists Vivian Hoffman and Rishi Ludgate. It is located in the Sovereign Shopping Centre, Boscombe.
Designed by Anna Stud and Mark Lloyd in 2014, ‘Awakening’ stands at a massive seven by 15 metres on Roumelia Lane, Boscombe. It was created as part of the nine-day Great Exhibition of Boscombe in October.
4. Soundclash Mural
This quirky mural can be found on Exeter Crescent, Bournemouth and depicts a large stereo on the side of the live music venue Soundclash. It has been in place for three years now.
5. Boscombe Police Box
The Boscombe police box was set up in the high street during April 2014, replicating the famous Dr Who time-travelling machine. Dorset Police said that it would act as a visible presence to tackle crime as well as being a tourist attraction.
