What better way is there to support Act Fast in their quest to support families that have been through the traumatic experience of sexual abuse than to buy Christmas presents for your own family?
Give as You Live generates money through affiliate, which means that retailers pay them commission each time a purchase is generated for them through the site and they pass 50% of this on to the affiliate charities.
Acts Fast has said that any money that is raised through this campaign will be put back into the charity, to widen the net to provide support for more people who have been affected by sexual abuse. The raised money will hopefully allow the charity to grow, for it is currently the only local charity of the sort. The nearest comparable charity is based in London.
In the name of Christmas spirit, a time that brings families closer together, it is very important for the charity to be able to continue what they have been doing. Mandy Gulliver, Service Director of Acts Fast explained: “Professor Jack Shonkoff at Harvard Centre for the developing child shows evidence base, that if we want to improve outcomes for children we need to build resilience in the adults that matter to the child. That is exactly why we went about setting up the charity; to have a holistic approach on the impact of child sex abuse.”
