Pippa Daniels, Poole Town FC Board Member said: “We have not noticed any increase when Bournemouth are away this season. We have done in previous seasons when we offered discounted tickets to AFCB season ticket holders. Now we aren’t able to identify AFCB supporters.”
Fans Flocking To Tatnam Due To Poole Town’s Recent Success
Poole Town are having another rapid start to the season, all ready picking up 50 points in 24 games, leaving them top by 9 points.
Mark Bumford, Poole Town FC Commercial Director said: “We have had a little bit of a backlash from our own fans saying, we are the regulars, we come here week in week out and then you give the discounted prices to Bournemouth fans.”
AFC Bournemouth’s debut premier league season has seen Dean Court almost sold out for every game, however Poole Town’s own footballing success is the factor fans are flocking in their hundreds to Tatnam Farm football ground.
Pippa Daniels said: “[It is] A real family atmosphere – children as mascots, families enjoying the game, joining the supporters club and seeing first hand today how raising money for the club directly influences things around us. In the case of Poole Town specifically – we are a winning side too.”
Poole Town place 8th on the value for money ranking, whilst Bournemouth place 3rd. However with The Dolphins current form, promotion could be a realistic achievement, encouraging more football fanatics to come down and watch Poole Town FC.
