With a place in the fourth round of the FA Cup on the line, Eastleigh travel to Bolton to replay their third round tie.
At the start of the month non-league Eastleigh came close to knocking the Championship side out of the cup. But the club who narrowly avoided a winding-up order snatched a draw three-minutes from time.
The goal came in the 87th minute as Darren Pratley saved Bolton from a shock cup exit to the lowest ranked team remaining in the cup. Bolton had fallen behind early in the second half to a Dorian Dervite own goal.
The replay tonight could see Eastleigh progress to the fourth round of Britain’s leading cup competition for the first time in their 70-year history. With tonight’s winners rewarded with a home tie in the next round against Leeds United.
Bolton similarly go into the tie on the back of a loss as the Championship strugglers suffered a three-nil defeat to Nottingham Forest. But the Greater Manchester club were more recently in the High Court as the clubs debt rose to £172.9m, with £2.2million owed to Revenue & Customs.
Also in action tonight are Portsmouth as the South Coast side replay their tie with Ipswich Town.
