What influenced your project on sex robots? I read an article by New Statesman with the headline ‘Should we ban sex robots?’ and it caught my attention. I wanted to question our ethics, when it comes to sex robots and explore the topical issues surrounding the development of robots and their marketisation of disposable bodies. The main aim was to provoke thought and create discussion, so people become aware of the impact it will have on human interaction and intimacy.
Did you find out anything interesting during your research? A report by a futurologist states that “by 2050, human-on-robot sex will be more common than human-on-human sex” and I was surprised more by how many people engage in cybersex relationships and who are also in support of the sex robots.
Are you in favour of sex dolls? No.
DAVECAT AND HIS DOLLS:
The new sexbots are just an upgrade from sex dolls. As an activist for synthetic love, Davecat tells about life with his sex dolls.
