Dorset Police are reminding drivers to be aware of the risks and consequences of using phones on the road, as new fines and penalties are announced for offenders. Rules to be enforced next year show offenders facing a possible 6 points on their license, coupled with a £200 fine. PC Andy Scarratt, of Dorset Police, stated “Phones cause accidents, and are therefore a top priority for our traffic unit”. PC Scarratt also reinforced how important it was for members of the public to be vigilant, encouraging Neighborhood Watch programs.
