Here are ways you can help those on the streets this Christmas…
Volunteering can help loads – by giving just your time you could help big charities by helping provide food and shelter to those in need.
Donate to charities
By donating money to charities such as Shelter, which is a housing aid charity, then you can give them more support. It doesn’t have to be a lot of money and it means that they could have somewhere to sleep on Christmas.
Buy food and drink for them
If you see beggars on the street, the kindest thing to do is to buy them food and drink instead of giving them money because that way they are getting better care, instead of spending money on other things.
Acknowledge them on the streets
Even by giving them a smile instead of hurrily walking pas, it could lift their mood and doesn’t cost a penny.
Report them to StreetLink
This is advised by the Bournemouth Borough Council so that they are recognised for being homeless- as they may not know where to get the help they need from.
