The Dorset Fire and Rescue Crew was called to Charminster high street yesterday afternoon after a blaze broke out in a Thai restaurant.
Fire crews were called to AroiDee Thai on Charminster Road at 1.45pm to tackle the blaze.
Firefighters used six breathing apparatus as they worked to clear the smoke and put the fire out.
The newly-opened restaurant was severely damaged in the incident.
The kitchen and the rest of the property were both damaged by smoke.
Dorset Fire and Rescue Crew will be working alongside the British Red Cross to provide those affected with alternative accommodation.
No one was on the premises during the incident and the cause of the fire is currently being investigated.
