The local cartoonist and illustrator, recently inspired by Dorset landscapes, is currently having her art displayed in the tearoom of the museum on High West Street until 1st April and is free entry.
Merrily’s previous work has appeared regularly in national broadsheet newspapers as well as in novels written by Kingsley Amis, Miles Kington and Gerald Durrell. The work shown at the museum is also available to buy.
As well as creating artwork Merrily has written a study of Britain’s mystery big cats – the panther and puma like creatures regularly spotted in our countryside.
The museum is open from 10am to 4pm from Monday to Saturday.
