Police urge motorists to be cautious today, as low lying fog and freezing temperatures cause poor conditions on roads across Dorset.
These latest warnings come after 14 accidents were reported across the county during rush hour this morning.
Dorset Police have now advised drivers to drive sensibly and safely in the troublesome conditions.
PC Andy Scarratt spoke to Buzz News and gave his advice on how drivers can stay safe in today’s poor weather.
He said: “Ideally if you don’t need to travel in these conditions then don’t. If you do, make sure you give yourself plenty of time.
“If you drive close to the car in front you may need to drop back a bit. We’ve had lots of incidents where people have slipped into cars and lamp posts.
“Give yourself plenty of time and plenty of distance. We don’t have weather like this all of the time so people forget the best ways to drive in it.”
