Gradel, who has been linked with a move away to Watford, featured against Togo in Gabon where he came on in the 81st minute of the 0-0 Group C draw.
The Ivory Coast international has just made 21 appearances for the club since he signed from St Etienne in 2015 following the club’s promotion to the Premier League.
The 29-year old is wanted by Watford and Burnley, with Bournemouth said to be reluctant to let Gradel go for anything less than the seven million that they paid for him.
The Ivory Coast manager Michel Dussuyer told IOL his team need to improve their performance after the disappointing draw: ” We expect more from ourselves. We did not manage to put intensity into our game. In the end, it was a pale copy of what we can do.”
Ivory Coast, who are defending champions after they won the Africa Cup of Nations in 2015, are next in action against DR Congo on Friday afternoon.
