A local charity group wants to prove that in the right hands, ordinary rubbish can be turned into useful things.
The Ideas2Action charity group is asking for donations of sweet wrappers, kitchen roll tubes and milk bottle tops among other things. The group wants to collect these items to forward onto schools, faith groups and charities which can use them.
The first Bournemouth-based Win On Waste campaign was held on September 17 last year at Southbourne Library. Thanks to a succesful bid to the Bournemouth Council’s Green Goals, the project will run from January to June 2017.
Ideas2Action started in 2014 with their first Win On Waste campaign in Canford Heath.
In addition to recycling, the charity’s other big project is Hunt the House, raising awareness on the importance of visible house numbers in emergency situations. The pilot project funded by the Dorset Police & Crime Commissioner’s Safer Dorset Fund, ran as a pilot in Canford Heath in Poole from April to July 2016.
