With recent reports that antidepressants increase the risk of suicidal thoughts and with rising numbers of people taking them; Charlotte Veryard investigates to see if these ‘happy pills’ are really doing more harm than good.
In this story we follow Dom and Mel who both had positive experiences taking antidepressants. They both explain how these tablets affected their day to day life. Along with this, we meet Katinka who is campaigning for people to be more aware of the dangers of antidepressants. Katinka explains what happened to her when she was put on a course of antidepressants which sent her into a four-day psychosis.
