Poole Town FC have called on the help of supporters to raise £70,000 for essential stadium refurbishment.
The club has faced issues with ground grading since leaving Poole Stadium in 1994 with their current location Tatnam Field failing to meet the terracing and floodlight requirements for the National League South. £80,000 have already been raised but they will face relegation if the final £70,000 is not met by the end of January.
Southampton striker Charlie Austin has offered his support to the cause, giving Poole’s board free use of his box at St Mary’s Stadium. Austin, 27, scored 48 goals in 42 games for the Dolphins between 2008 and 2009 before moving to Swindon Town.
Tom Killick’s side have been impressive on the pitch in recent seasons, clinching promotion to the Vanarama National League South in 2016 and currently sit in 3rd place.
The club started an online donations page six days ago and have received £3,360 in donations.
