A local music festival near Chichester has all the hay bales rocking!
Today we have heard renditions from youngster Emily Covell, Lara Chilton, Jess Chilton, Pete Hart, and Jock Robertson. Set underneath the bright June sunshine, next to the beautiful bay of Chichester harbour, Cobstock is a dream location for a festival. You may think you’re abroad!
Mojitos, tequila sunrise, and craft beers are available from the ‘Cobtails’ cocktail yurt on the right of the main stage.
Unique, quaint, and hippie cobstock festival camping coupled with local young musical talent to raise money for Cobnor Activity Centre Trust – a sailing and activity haven for youngsters. The festival took place on the 3rd-5th June and enjoyed a record 700 person crowd! Performers ranged from as young as 4 years old to 70! Sometimes they even sang together!
Another unique talent was 17 year old Emily Covell, who sung an Alex Clare cover of ‘Too Close’ accompanied by Drummer Jock Robertson a local farmer, and James Mcnoughten a local sailor. She also did Amy Winehouse-Esc Jazz cover of Paolo Nutini’s ‘Loving You,’ which reduced the majority of the crowd to tears, whilst some watchers danced from their hay bale seats perched under another white marquee to espcae from the early June heat.
Mark Covell, Father of Emily, was also the resident weekend DJ. Kitted out with smoke machines, lasers, and a purple bubble machine! He acted as the hype man between acts to get the campers up and dancing, mixing classics such as Sade – ‘By Your Side’ with modern dance hits like, ‘My Head is a Jungle’ – Wanklemut and Emma Louise.
India Bornhoft attended the weekend to get a feel for the close up family vibe.
