Four Bournemouth journalism students came second for ‘Website of the year’ at the BJTC awards 2017, last night.
Liam Baldock, Dan Dove, Dan Sansom and Mark Briggs were nominated for their Interactive Documentary ‘Paranormal Interactivity’ that they created for a second year project in early 2017. The documentary allows you to travel around the most haunted parts of Dorset, finding out about the history and culture of each place.
The 4 students are in the last year of their Multimedia Journalism course and were one of two Bournemouth University nominations at the ceremony. Liam Baldock told BUzz News: “It was a real honour to be nominated for the award especially considering the competition that was on offer.”
The students had to travel to Manchester for the awards last night, which also included a tour around Media City in Salford.
Brilliant night at MediaCity last night in Salford for the @BJTC_UK awards. Runners up for ‘website of the year’ was a smashing achievement – especially receiving it alongside the best group I could have asked for. Hopefully be back next year 🙌🎥 pic.twitter.com/Vy3sPwtVDi

It was an honour to represent Bournemouth University.”
Liam, 21, went on to say: “Most students at the event had their final year projects submitted and are all in big jobs now so hopefully we can be back next year and do the same. It was an honour to represent Bournemouth University.”
Immensely proud to have represented @bournemouthuni and @SUBUBournemouth at the @BJTC_UK awards last night. Despite finishing as runners up it was an honour to showcase our documentary in front of industry professionals 🎬 pic.twitter.com/Kd006o18ui
