A local care service is handing out gifts to elderly patients spending their Christmas in hospital.
Home Instead Senior Care Bournemouth, Christchurch & Poole have launched a ‘Be a Santa to a Senior’ scheme this year. They have partnered up with Poole Hospital to hand out gifts to elderly patients that will be spending the holidays in hospital.

The team will also be working with the Tesco in Fleetsbridge and Tower Park and Kinson Community Centre. These are the three locations where Home Instead workers will be. Also where gift’s should be dropped off. The way this scheme works is people are encouraged to buy small gifts from the retailer and drop it off with the Home Instead Team. Below is the details as where and when they are available:
Tesco Fleetsbridge – 5th December
Kinson Community Centre – 7th December
Tesco Tower Park – 15th December
Amanda Baker Owner of Home Instead Bournemouth comment on the ‘be a santa to a senior’ campaign. She said, “’Our ‘Be a Santa to a Senior’ campaign provides a wonderful opportunity to touch the lives of older people amongst us who might be spending time in hospital over Christmas.”

She then goes onto explaining the objective of the campaign. Which to have a positive impact on the lives of older people whom might not be receiving a gift at Christmas. She hoped that this campaign would make a small change and also give back to the community.
