A Bournemouth youngster will be given an early Christmas present thanks to special event last month.
After Delilah needed a self propelled wheelchair, Dorset Children’s Foundation organised a charity dinner at Urban Reef in Boscombe in order to raise the money to buy Delilah wheelchair. Thanks to the £3,622 raised, Delilah was bought a sparkly pink wheelchair in order to keep the three year old girl active and independent.
Owner of Urban Reef, Mark Cribb hosted the event which welcomed more than 100 people. We caught up with him at Urban Reef in Boscombe.
The special dinner was put together with the help of local suppliers who all donated their products for free. All profits from the meal were given to Delilah to help pay for the wheelchair which has a frontal attachment in order to convert the chair into an off-roader for more intrepid outings.
Urban Guild have agreed to continue to work with the charity in order to better the lives of local sick and disabled children in Dorset.
The Dorset Children Foundation run three charity shops in bournemouth with all the proceeds going towards helping children.
