Figures released today by NHS Digital revealed that more than 33,000 nurses walked away from the NHS last year.
This news comes a day after The Kings Fund released more damning statistics revealing that the number of qualified mental health nurses across England has dropped by 13%.
Lisa Spriggs, a Senior Coordinator at Dorset Mental Health Forum, believes the stigma behind getting into mental health nursing is a driving factor behind the falling numbers.
However, Lisa believes Dorset are doing a great job to retain and encourage more nursing.
Statistics from the Kings Fund have also pointed out that the number of qualified mental health nurses has fallen by 6,500.
One in 10 Nurses are leaving the NHS each year, which means there is more qualified nurses leaving than joining. Although NHS Bosses said it is under control, NHS leaders said it was a dangerous downhill spiral.
