AFC Bournemouth are set to beat Scottish giants Celtic to the loan signing of Chelsea youngster Charly Musonda according to the Times.
Ross Barkley’s arrival at Stamford Bridge has given Musonda the green light to secure a loan deal for the remainder of the season, with an English Club the preferred destination.
Cherries boss Eddie Howe was in attendance as the 21-year-old bagged a brace in Chelsea’s 2-1 win over Portsmouth in the Checkatrade Trophy on Tuesday.
Musonda has been on Celtic manager Brendan Rogers’ radar since the summer, when he was reportedly close to penning a switch to the Glaswegian side.
Those hopes were dashed when the Belgian signed a new four-and-a-half-year deal with the Blues last month, but Celtic remain interested in securing a loan deal for the rest of the campaign.
Howe was also in attendance for Brentford’s 2-0 win over Bolton on Saturday, although it is not yet known who he was there to watch.
