R.E.D (Run Every Day) January is a scheme which encourages participators to run every day during January, no matter what distance or length of time.
The national scheme, run by the charity MIND, aims to help people kick-start the year in the most positive way possible and help make a difference in the lives and the people around them.
Katie Miller, MIND Fundraising and Events Co-ordinator, tells Buzz News why they are running R.E.D January.
She said: “In terms of people struggling we do have a few more people calling up. The main thing we keep saying to people is that one day it might be a struggle, but the next day it will be better. We want people to think about what the aimed target is, they’re doing it to improve mental health services and doing it to improve their own mental health.”
Exercising is usually beneficial to your body, but it must be noted that over-exercising can also cause health problems, so MIND give useful advice on how participants can remain healthy whilst participating in R.E.D January.
It’s not too late to join the movement and R.E.D encourages people to participate in any way they can, even if it’s just for five minutes every day.
