Eddie Howe has stressed the importance of AFC Bournemouth remaining in the Premier League after the club was included in the Deloitte 2018 Money League.
Despite insisting that he is more concerned with matters on the pitch, Eddie Howe admitted that it’s positive to see Bournemouth on the list: “I think it’s strange when you consider the size of some clubs from around the world that would be under us in terms of that [money league].
“With the TV deal we have here we know we’re very fortunate to be in this country. The club’s very fortunate to be in the position where the income from the TV revenue is so big, but I think that’s down to the popularity of the Premier League and everything that comes with the Premier League.
“That’s why it’s important that we work every day to try and establish ourselves in this division and try to make the club stronger from the bottom up.”
This is another reminder of the Cherries’ incredible turnaround since they went into administration in 2008 and their flirtation with relegation from the Football League in the 2008-09 season.
Since then, the club has risen through the divisions under the stewardship of Eddie Howe, making it into the Premier League in 2015.
We asked the Bournemouth public on what they thought of the Money League rise.
