Poole Town are now four points adrift of safety in the National League South, after a 4-0 defeat to Eastbourne Borough.
The Dolphins entered the half-time break trailing 3-0, after goals from Lloyd Dawes, Charlie Harris and Gavin McCallum put the visitors in control.
Despite a spirited second half performance, Tom Killick’s side were unable to find a way back into the game.
McCallum then fired home his second of the afternoon, to round off another poor performance at the Black Gold stadium for Poole.
And with only 12 league games left for the Dolphins to save their season, relegation now looks a real possibility for the Dorset strugglers.
Poole face eighth-placed Braintree in their next fixture, before two crucial games against high flying Hampton and Richmond Borough and league leaders Dartford.
A home tie with Bath City rounds off the testing period for the Dolphins on March 17.
