Stung: Meet Britain’s Paedophile Hunters

December 13, 2018 //  by Luke Hewitt//  Leave a Comment

This TV documentary explores the dark world of vigilante paedophile hunting – everyday citizens who set up fake social media profiles, posing as children in order to snare suspected predators.

Luke Hewitt immersed himself into the hunting community, travelling with a hunting team to a sting where a predator was apprehended. As well as speaking to Kent Police and a former hunter named ‘JB’ who had his life ruined by the predators he had previously exposed.

Luke investigates the possibility of the Police forming a relationship with these teams, after a study revealed there has been a seven-fold increase on predatory convictions made using hunting evidence.

Are these teams becoming more accepted by the authorities or is it still an incredibly unexplored and dark corner of online activism?
