Two men have been arrested following an investigation leading to a discovery of cannabis in the Wardon Hill area.
Police seized a “significant amount” of the drug which allegedly filled four lorry containers. The cannabis was found following a raid on Wednesday morning after police acted on intelligence.
The two men, aged 48 and 62, are being held on suspicion of involvement in supplying a class B drug. Both men are from the Dorchester area.
Darren Stanton, of Dorchester police said: “This warrant was carried out in response to intelligence received from the local community and has resulted in a significant number of what are believed to be cannabis plants being recovered.
“We are committed to tackling the suspected supply and production of drugs in our area and are indebted to members of the public for providing information that helps to build an intelligence picture.”
This joins a line of several drug-related arrests in the area carried out last year.
Dorchester Police are urging any residents with information or concerns relating to drug activity to contact them.
