The British Nutrition Foundation has released a new guide today with the aim to make it easier for people to eat the right portions of food.

Its release coincides with obesity week which focuses on the prevention of obesity.

Rather than using scales, the guide instead shows how using various parts of your hand you can measure the correct portions.

On average we as a country are over eating by 200 calories every day.

Additionally, Poole Borough Council have launched their zero waste cooking workshops for the second year in a row which offers 45 households the opportunity to attend classes which aim to teach attendees how to eat healthy and with as little waste as possible.

Read the guide and then take the quiz below to see if you know what portion sizes you should be eating.
