Bournemouth Borough Council’s licensing board made the decision this morning to pass Ola’s application, meaning the billion pound taxi network are ready to go.
Of Indian origin, Ola Cabs was founded on 3 December 2010 as an online cab aggregator in Mumbai, and is now based in Bangalore.
Ola has over 10 million cars operating across 169 cities, its recently extended its company to New Zealand and Australia.
Now keen to expand in the UK, Ola have so far been issued licences to work across parts of south west England and south Wales, including Bristol and Newport.
Taxi app competitor Uber planned to run in Bournemouth but retracted its plans in 2017.
