The UK Dance Championships 2019 are officially underway today at the BIC Windsor Hall.
The world class competition is one of the largest and most important dates in the UK dance calendar.
The competition, organised by Dance News Ltd, begins today and finishes on Thursday 17 January.
The three day event features some of the best dancers in Latin and Ballroom competing for the top spot.
The competitors will be judged by Shirley Ballas from BBC One’s Strictly Come Dancing.
The competitions held include:
Amateur Rising Star Ballroom
Amateur Rising Star Latin
Professional Rising Star Ballroom
Professional Rising Star Latin
Amateur Latin
Professional Ballroom
Amateur Ballroom
Professional Latin
The first competitive events held today will be the “Rising Stars” Championships; Amateur Rising Star Ballroom Championship, Amateur Rising Star Latin Championship, Professional Rising Star Ballroom Championship and the Professional Rising Star Latin Championship.
Wednesday 16th January will see the Professional Ballroom and Amateur Latin Championships.
Thursday 17 January will hold the final competitions, the Professional Latin and Amateur Ballroom Championships.
Doors for todays championships open at 8am for the day session and 7:15pm for the evening session, and at 9am and 7pm for the subsequent days’ sessions.
