If Veganuary, Dry January, or any other January-cantred campaign hasn’t really done it for you, don’t worry! Here’s something a bit different.
Tryanuary, sponsored by CAMRA (The Campaign for Real Ale) and SIBA (The Society for Independent Brewers), is a nationwide campaign encouraging people to engage with their local breweries and pubs, in what can be a challenging time for them.
With Dry January and the post-Christmas slump where people tend to be struggling financially, pubs and bars tend to suffer a loss at this time of the year – but independent businesses feel it the hardest. Here are 5 Bournemouth based bars you can support this #Tryanuary.
1. Chaplin’s & The Cellar Bar, Boscombe.
Chaplin’s boasts reasonable prices, loads of live music and comedy and a beautiful rooftop garden with heaters that is perfect for any season. They open late on Fridays and Saturdays and have an excellent selection of ales and larger to try.

This restaurant and bar claims it is ‘breathing new life’ into the food and drink scene in east Dorset. With food cooked on their wood-fired ovens and a speak-easy bar area named ‘The Library’ – it is a unique experience that isn’t one to be overlooked in Bournemouth.

5. The Crafty Tap, Christchurch.
For beer lovers, this is the one to get out and support. Serving a whole host of local craft beers, larger and ciders, this little taproom in heart of Christchurch is worth the excursion. Although a little far out from Bournemouth, this is a newer business with a nice niche.
