Mental health has become a much more open topic of conversation in recent years, but there are still some industries where a stigma remains attached to the subject of struggling psychologically. Game, Set, Mental Health takes a deeper look at the mental struggles tennis players face whilst on the professional tour, and how they and the sport’s key organisations are working to break the stigmas surrounding the still taboo topic of mental health within the sport. The documentary also turned to those in power at the Association of Tennis Professionals and Women’s Tennis Association to ask what support is already on offer and how this will be further improved for the future.

To find out more about this project, visit my production blog and Twitter.

If you are affected by any of the issues mentioned in this documentary you can get mental health support in the UK by calling the Samaritans at 116 123 available 24/7. Or you can find additional help and support here.
