Local business galore at the Arts University Bournemouth

Prints, Artwork, Cakes, Clothes, and so much more.

On the second Thursday of every month, Arts University Bournemouth’s Student Union takes over the university’s main courtyard between 12 and 2pm, and today was no different.

The main courtyard that sits in the heart of the campus transforms into a bustling mini market for the event each time it rolls around.

Not only were there prints and cakes galore (all made by talented students) up for grabs, but official hoodies, sweatshirts and t-shirts representing the university were available to purchase to keep customers on-brand on campus.

To stay in tune with the ever-pressing environmental issues of the day, there was even the chance to swap unwanted clothes for snazzy new ones at Green Team’s Swap Shop.

Buzz spoke to Caitlin who was a stallholder at today’s event, she said: “I just make all this at home, I do it for myself but a lot of people like to do it for charities or for their societies.”

With two more events currently scheduled in the university’s calendar, there is still opportunity to check out the arty stalls; the next pop up is taking place on the 13th of February with another following the next month of March the 12th.

The event is free and open for anyone to attend.
