Agatha Christie’s Mousetrap opens tonight in Lighthouse Poole’s Centre for the Arts, and is running for a week.

Making its world premiere in 1952, it is the longest running play in the world.

The murder mystery first opened 62 years ago at the Theatre Royal in Nottingham.

Since then, Mousetrap has continued to keep audiences on the edge of their seats with a classic ‘whodunit’ plot.

The play follows a suspenseful plot, which begins when a group of people gathered in a country house discover that there is a murderer in their midst.

In a final twist the murderer is revealed and the play follows a tradition of secrecy.

The audience is asked to keep the identity a secret once they have left.

Tickets are available for showings from the Lighthouse website.
