In an exclusive interview with Buzz, a leading Nigerian activist has warned of a ‘time bomb’ in the fight against climate change.

Olumide Idowu is a prominent environmental campaigner and the co founder of NGO Iccdi Africa.

He works to engage Nigeria’s youth population with climate activism, and believes that ending gas flaring in the country will be vital to helping achieve sustainable goals.

Originally the Nigerian government planned to end flaring in 2020. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic they moved it on ten years to 2030.
