Better Out is a final year university documentary that looks at new ways of gambling addiction recovery during the Covid-19 pandemic.
In March 2020 virtual sports betting grew by 88% compared to in 2019, showing a sobering sign that gambling problems are on the rise.
Recovering addict Ryan Pitcher is counteracting this with his innovative way to help people in recovery. He has set up the All Bets Are Off podcast which is helping those struggling with gambling in national isolation.
In this documentary we hear from Ryan, as well as listener and recovering addict Ray Gritt, and also gambling psychologist Dr Luke Clark.
The documentary is by Mike Gillett of Bournemouth University.
