Doxxed: The dark side of the internet

Doxxed is a seven minute radio documentary exploring the topic of doxxing: the practice of posting someone’s identifying information online without their consent as a form of harassment.

Anyone can be a victim and anyone can dox someone else, but despite this, it is not a particularly well known subject, especially in the UK.

Most examples and information is based in the US which means that victims in England may not know the options available to them if a stranger posts their personal details on the internet.

In this documentary Ellie Smitherman investigates different aspects of the topic through interviews with victims, an internet solicitor, a cyber psychologist and a website accused of giving a platform to doxxers.

She also uncovers the possible options available for victims in England and what it really means to be doxxed.
