BCP Council’s wants visitors to the beaches of Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole to reduce the amount of single-use plastic around the seafront.
It’s been working with the organisation City to Sea to develop plans to reduce plastic waste on the beach as well and change people’s behaviour.
BCP Council says it spends £1 million per year removing waste from its beaches.
City to Sea work with other organisations where they campaign about behaviour change and underline how small actions like refilling a water bottle once a week more than one million fewer plastic bottles a year are used.
The proposals in the report focus on the Durley Environmental Innovation hub which is costing £2.4million, with funding coming from the Coastal Communities fund.
