Iceland has returned to Christchurch town centre. It opened this morning with shoppers queuing from as early as 6am ready for the 8am start.
It has taken over a unit in Saxon Square, previously owned by Poundstretcher.
Speaking to store manager Sam Ketchley, he explained the benefits he hopes customers will get from the move:
“From working in our Boscombe and Ringwood branches I know that there is a lot of our customers using our home delivery services who live in Christchurch.
“It meant that for quite a lot of our customers they were having to travel quite a distance to get to.
“Putting one in the heart of Christchurch, I think, has made most of the people who live here really happy.”
Mr Ketchley was delighted with the turn out for the grand opening.
The first hundred customers were gifted envelopes containing vouchers with up to £100 off their groceries. Mr Ketchley said this gesture “goes a long way and speaks volumes about Iceland.”
