Face masks in classrooms are no longer required as the government scraps Plan B restrictions.
Boris Johnson said it is important for teachers to follow the new rules, as it is ‘vital’ that children receive face-to-face education.
This means teachers should not insist that face masks should be worn in classrooms.
The official spokesperson for the Prime Minister said:
“Children have been one of the hardest hit as a result of the disruption throughout the pandemic and we recognise the impact it has on children,”
He added that children should receive a “normal experience in the classroom” by following the guidelines.
