Police Appeal following Christchurch collision fatality

Dorset Police is appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision that occurred on Airfield Way, Christchurch on Thursday Morning.

The incident occurred at 11:38am on Thursday 13th January.

The collision involved a Mercedes Sprinter van and a pedestrian, who was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.

The van driver, a male aged in his 50s, was not physically injured.

Police Sergeant Sarah Jones, of the traffic unit in Dorset Police expressed her sentiments to the family.

“We are carrying out enquiries to establish exactly what happened and would urge any witnesses to please come forward.”

She also stressed that anyone that may have footage of the incident through a dashcam or CCTV footage should also come forward and provide the footage.
