These will include the addition of an even smaller model town- a model of the model, which will be one tenth of the size of the current version.
Nick Clark, manager of Wimborne Model Town and Gardens, said: “We’re very excited about the model town of the model town coming in and the way we have progressed over the years.”
He added: “To still be here after 70 years is absolutely fantastic.”
Nick explained that the model town is refurbished every year and is run completely by a team of 70-80 volunteers.
Covid-19 has also had an affect on the model town, with a surge of visitors during lockdown creating the need for extra adaptations.
Mr Clark, who has worked there for 9 years, said: “We found that it was very busy because obviously people could not go away on holidays.
“We introduced a one way system and a quiz for the children, all socially distanced. We were amazed with the people who came in and everyone seemed very happy with what we had done.”
