Poole Town have announced new contracts for three key first-team players until the end of the 2023-2024 season.
Goalkeeper Luke Cairney has extended his contract at the BlackGold Stadium. Cairney has made over 100 appearances for the Dolphins keeping 6 clean sheets this season.
Poole Town were also able to announce that they have secured the futures of prolific strike partnership: Tony Lee and Toby Holmes. Lee has netted 14 times this season in 17 appearances making him the club’s top scorer. Fellow forward Toby Holmes has 15 goal contributions so far this season.
Currently, Poole Town sit 4th place in the Southern Football League. The club has aspirations of one day returning to the National League South and this is certainly a step in the right direction.
Across social media, fans are delighted with the news.
Club Chairman Chris Reeves spoke to BUzz news about the squad he’s building and the team-spirit at the club.
Mr Reeves said “strikers are very special commodities and we think we’ve got the best goalkeeper in the league as well.”
He added: “We’ve got an iconic manager, a great team spirit and we are building a really good squad.”
Poole Town’s next fixture is away at Plymouth Parkway who are struggling towards the bottom of the league table. This comes after a run of three weekends without a league fixture due to postponements.
