Points were shared at the County Ground as Hamworthy United drew 1-1 with Cinderford Town on Saturday afternoon.
The Hammers started the game quickly as they created numerous chances in the opening minutes.
They took the lead on the 20 minute mark as Curtis Young crossed for Sam Griffin who fired into the roof of the net.
The home team would go on to dominate the first half.
But they could not capitalise from the chances they created.
Cinderford struggled to get through the Hamworthy defence but they tested goalkeeper Tommy Scott within the first minute of the half.
There were a series of free kicks on the edge of the Hamworthy penalty area for Cinderford, but the goalkeeper was equal to them as he made a number of saves.
After a clearance from the Hamworthy defence, right back William Emery crossed deep into the box and after the Hammers failed to clear, Jonathan Invernizzi pounced to finish neatly into the bottom right corner.
Two minutes into stoppage time, young striker Cameron Munn passed a series of Cinderford defenders in the penalty area.
As he was preparing to shoot he was taken out by a defender which meant a penalty for Hamworthy.
With one of the last kicks of the game Cameron Munn stepped up but missed as he failed to connect with the ball cleanly.
Statistics show the game was even. However, Hamworthy created a number of chances across the game and are certain to be unhappy with a draw.
Chairman Steve Mitchener said: “It was a game of two halves”.
Fans saw it as two points lost. But, with a large portion of the season remaining it was definitely a performance to build on.
