Letters from the public have been inundated to the council asking them to reconsider the plans for a new food court.
The Royal Arcade in Boscombe is set to become a place with “a vibrant and inviting atmosphere,” ECA Architecture & Planning said.
As a result, local businesses like Doggie Delights will be closing “without any compensation, ” said Director Marnie Ruth Danson.
Doggie Delights was incorporated in July of this year and already considering closing.
The dog treat company makes and sells 100% natural products like food, leads, collars, shampoos, and toys.
“It is unfair and sad, my whole life depends on the shop, and it will be taken from me,” she added.
The new plans for the arcade will attract an estimated 800,000 people by introducing pop-up restaurants with international foods according to the council.
However, the public is not convinced by the food court plan and are worried for the local businesses that have established themselves there for years.
Finances of the plan are still being debated as the project may cost 7 million pounds more than the initial costs which was at 11.54 million pounds.
The public is still hoping that the council will reconsider the Royal Arcade of Bournemouth plans.
