A man has been sentenced to 40 months in custody following an investigation by detectives into a stabbing in Bournemouth

“Cameron Horler from Bournemouth, aged 19 appeared at Bournemouth Crown Court on Tuesday 16 January 2024 to be sentenced after admitting charges of inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of a bladed article.”
Dorset Police received information on Tuesday 17 October 2023 at 2pm of an incident that occurred on Windham Road.
Officers attended the scene alongside an ambulance service where the victim was taken to hospital to be treated for multiple gashes and cuts that required stitches.
Searches were carried out by armed officers where Horler was located at a near by address and soon arrested. The weapon was also seized and recovered in a nearby bin.
Dorset Police stated “Tackling knife crime remains a key priority for Dorset Police and we are absolutely committed to taking robust action against offenders such as Horler, who think it is acceptable to arm themselves with a knife and commit acts of violence.
“In this case we were able to swiftly identify and locate the offender so he could be held accountable for his offending.
“We will continue to work with partners to combat the scourge of knife crime and raise awareness of the serious consequences that can result from carrying a knife.”
