Rothwell exits Cherries, how many more will follow?

AFC Bournemouth Midfielder Joe Rothwell has been confirmed as a loan signing for Southampton Saints. Rothwell has failed to make the minutes and appearances he desires this season, only making three starts out of 19 with the Cherries. The midfielder’s move to the Championship side will hope to breathe life into his career, starting this Saturday as the Saints travel to Swansea.

Hamed Traore’s medical takes place today as the Bournemouth winger looks to close a move to Napoli, taking him back to Italy as the Ivorian started his career at Empoli. Traore originally moved to Bournemouth in 2022 on loan from Italian team Sassuolo before a deal was made to permanently sign him for about £20m. The 23-year-old has been out of action for the last four months due to malaria contracted from international duty in November.

Reportedly Kieffer Moore, David Brooks, and Chris Mepham are also in contention of moving clubs with Sheffield supposedly interested.

However, Kieffer Moore may be returning to Wales as a move to Cardiff City with Cardiff Manager Erol Bulut admitting he is in the queue for the Welshman. Sunderland are also interested in the want-away man.

David Brooks may also follow Joe Rothwell as he continues to be linked with Russell Martin’s men. Brooks has also been linked to Leeds with Chris Mephams who has struggled to break into the first team with only four appearances.
