Brownsea Island may be getting electric vehicle chargers, as proposed by The National Trust.
It comes as part of the government’s target to stop the sale of petrol and diesel cars by 2030.
The BCP council has said they are: ‘eager to promote the installation of more electrical vehicle charging spots across the city.’
It is estimated there are almost 15, 800 low emission cars in Bournemouth Christchurch and Poole as of September 2023.
Despite this, there are only 29 charging stations in BCP to accommodate these vehicles, so this new proposal will be beneficial to not only residents but tourists too.
This project will play a big part in the council’s plan to enhance the island experience for tourists.
