‘Boars in the woods‘ is a camping group centered around mens mental health.

The Poole based group provides a safe space for men to talk about their struggles.

A recent survey revealed that 4 in 10 men in the UK won’t discuss their mental health problems.

The ‘Man up’ charity promotes speaking out about mental health before it gets worse.

The ‘Mind’ charity has released their 10 year report which follows the changes of mens mental health since 2009.

The findings revealed that men are now almost 3 times more likely to seek out the help of a therapist compared to 2009.

It also highlighted that the number of men has with suicidal thoughts has doubled.

In the report it mentioned the various different types of stresses that men experience that negatively affect their mental health.

From social media and racial discrimination to midlife crises and the struggle with sexual identity.

Support groups like ‘boars in the woods’ are vital to provide a support network where men can openly speak about their struggles.
